Tulsa game day does not have to mean a spreadsheet and three parking apps. Pick one venue, buy tickets from the official source, and leave yourself a short walk or rideshare buffer. This guide covers the two downtown anchors locals actually use: ONEOK Field (Drillers baseball + FC Tulsa soccer) and BOK Center (arena nights).

Both sit downtown. ONEOK Field is in the Historic Greenwood District (201 N Elgin Ave). BOK Center is a few blocks southwest (200 S Denver Ave). You can walk between them if your night stretches — just don’t try to “do both” the same tip-off.

ONEOK Field — Drillers & FC Tulsa

ONEOK Field is the shared home ballpark. Start with tickets from the club you’re watching:

Know-before-you-go notes (verify on game day)

From the Drillers A–Z guide and FC Tulsa matchday pages:

  • Gates for Drillers games normally open about 60 minutes before first pitch (promotions can shift that).
  • Cashless at ONEOK Field for Drillers games — cards / debit; reverse ATMs on site if you only have cash.
  • Kids 3 & under typically don’t need a Drillers ticket if they don’t take a seat — confirm on the ticket page.
  • Bags are subject to inspection; don’t bring outside food or drinks.
  • Parking: lots around the stadium; Drillers list selected OSU-Tulsa campus lots north of the field (they publish a current per-vehicle rate — check the A–Z guide before you go). FC Tulsa points fans to the BOK Lot at 208 E Archer for prepaid / day-of options and notes that downtown street meters are free after 5 p.m. weekdays and all day weekends — confirm on fctulsa.com/tickets/parking.
  • Drillers also mention a shuttle to the OSU-Tulsa parking area before and after games when that service is running.

Arrive a little early if you want lawn seats together, kids’ zones, or a giveaway line. Giveaways and promotions are first-come and change by date — the team sites are the source of truth.

BOK Center — arena night

BOK Center is the big indoor box for touring acts and special events. Buy through bokcenter.com / Ticketmaster (they flag Ticketmaster as the official channel).

Practical visitor notes from their FAQs and parking page:

  • Clear bag policy — one clear bag up to 12″ × 6″ × 12″ (or a one-gallon clear plastic bag), plus one small personal item up to 5″ × 8″. Larger bags get turned away at the door.
  • Doors usually open about 60 minutes before showtime (event pages can differ).
  • Mobile tickets — have Ticketmaster/AXS ready; screenshots generally don’t scan.
  • No on-site lot owned by the arena — nearby private lots set their own rates; prepaid options via their ParkWhiz partner; on-street meters free after 5 p.m.
  • Rideshare zone is on 1st Street between Denver and Cheyenne (look for BOK Center pickup/drop-off signage).
  • Re-entry is not allowed once you leave.

Metal detectors are standard — budget a few extra minutes at the door for popular shows.

Before and after — keep it short

You don’t need a second reservation to make the night feel complete.

  • Pre-game downtown: a walk through the Arts District / Brady blocks, or a lawn sit at Guthrie Green if the calendar is quiet (guthriegreen.com).
  • If you’re near Greenwood for ONEOK Field: give yourself time — this is a living district with real history. If you want a deeper visit, use our Greenwood orientation (when published) or start at Greenwood Rising on a non-game morning.
  • Post-game: one shared plate or dessert nearby beats a second drive across town. Cain’s Ballroom is walkable from the Arts District when there’s a show (cainsballroom.com) — don’t stack it on a late arena night unless you’re built for it.

Rain, heat, and honest exits

  • Drillers weather: postponements use the club’s rain-check rules (exchange for a later home game when applicable — see the A–Z guide). No inventing refunds here.
  • Summer doubleheaders / midweek tips: water, shade, and an earlier dinner plan beat “we’ll figure it out at the gate.”
  • Kids melting down: ONEOK Field’s published kid areas (playground / splash features when open) are nicer than forcing nine innings. Leaving after the seventh still counts.
