Best of 918 is a local guide to Tulsa: what's opening, what's worth your evening, and — eventually — a set of Best Of lists built the slow way.

How a Best Of list gets made

Nothing on a Best Of list is ranked until an editor has visited every place on that list in person and paid their own check. We don't accept payment for a Best Of rank, and a badge on those lists is never bought.

Advertising is labeled and kept off the lists. The Services directory is that product: a business can buy a featured slot, a sponsored card, or a directory listing there. Those placements are not rankings, and paying for one does not change Best Of, news, or guides.

Where events come from

Every event listing traces back to a named, linked source — the venue, the city's special events calendar, or the organizer. Nothing is invented to fill the calendar.
